A clinical educator’s contributions are not always visible on the surface — they are reflected in the confidence of a houseman who successfully applies a POP for the first time, in the courage of a medical student who voices a diagnosis, and in the slow-building culture of learning within an institution.

This page documents collaborations, service, and resources I’ve shared to support learners and colleagues — including joint teaching initiatives, mentorship roles, shared educational materials, committee work, and community or departmental projects that extend the reach and impact of my clinical teaching.

Institutional Contributions

Community Service

As an Orthopaedic Assistant Medical Officer at Hospital Shah Alam, my role as secretary helped me coordinate community service programmes in Shah Alam. This was a collaborative effort with the Bachelor of Medical and Health Science (Hons) programme and the Hospital Supervisory Unit (UPH; Unit Penyeliaan Hospital) Shah Alam. Through this experience I learned how to manage programme logistics — costs, venue, staffing, and suitable community activities.

Ongoing Clinical Teaching at the Hospital

In my role as an Assistant Medical Officer, I have consistently contributed informal clinical teaching to housemen and medical students during their orthopaedic postings. This includes:

Daily procedural supervision — POP application, wound dressing, stump care after BKA

Intraoperative teaching while assisting in arthroplasty, ORIF, and amputations

OT orientation for new students — sterile protocols, theatre etiquette, team roles

Contributions to International Conferences

My involvement on the IT & Multimedia Committee for the Scapula and Rib Conference (2023 & 2024) was not merely technical — it was a strategic contribution to the success of an international scientific platform that brought orthopaedic experts together from around the world.

Contributions to Professional Knowledge Development

Through my Master’s in Medical Education, I am conducting research on educators’ perceptions of Entrustable Professional Activities (EPAs) in the Allied Health sector. This study has the potential to:

Serve as a policy reference for developing Allied Health clinical curricula in Malaysia

Help structure fairer, evidence-based competency assessments for allied health practitioners

Contribute to the academic literature in local medical education

Informal Mentorship

I volunteer as an informal mentor to junior colleagues and students during orthopaedic postings — sharing experience, offering career guidance, and encouraging a culture of asking questions without fear.
